DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
City Council  is presided over by five Council Members, three of whom are elected in even-numbered years and two in odd-numbered years.  Council meetings are open to the public and held on the third Wednesday at 7:30 PM in the Council Chambers.

City Hall is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Utility payments may be dropped in the outdoor mailbox on the east side of City Hall.

Architectural Review Committee meets on Wednesday when scheduled by the Building Official to review plans for new construction, exterior alterations and/or additions, before a permit is issued.

Board Of Adjustment meets when scheduled by the City Manager's Office, on written request from a resident or business seeking a variance or special exception to City of Ordinances.

Police Pension Board
There is hereby created a board of trustees of the city police officers' pension fund which shall be solely responsible for administering the pension fund. The board of trustees shall meet at least quarterly each year. Each board of trustees shall be a legal entity with, in addition to other powers and responsibilities contained herein, the power to bring and defend lawsuits of every kind, nature and description, and shall be independent of the city to the extent required to accomplish the intent, requirements and responsibilities provided for in this article.
